The oldest history of jewelry making belongs to India. India has been making jewelry for more than five thousand years and developed so many new practices in jewelry making. East Indians were among the first to utilize metals extensively for making ornaments. In those days stones in the jewelry signified the wealth and class. The beads and stones were colored with fulsome colors and styles. The bead designers used to teach their children the work of stones and beads at very young age. But after the arrival of Industrial upheaval, middle class community came into being. Several different kinds of jewelry were made and the techniques were invented to make the jewelry at a very low cost. This enabled a common man to have jewelry in his hands which he never even thought of. Ultimately a great number of people used to wear different kinds of jewelry.
